LA JOLLA, Calif. — The UC San Diego men's rowing team won a pair of races at the two-day California Classic, co-hosted by 10th-ranked California and Stanford at Redwood Shores.
Saturday, UC San Diego's first victory was against Santa Clara in a Varsity 8 match-up. The Tritons came in with a time of 5:54.7, three seconds faster than the Broncos.
UC San Diego's 2nd Varsity 8 topped Santa Clara's 2nd Varsity 8. The Tritons posted a time of 6:04.7 to the Broncos' 6:07.6.
The Triton Varsity 8 lost against Temple's Varsity 8 and UC San Diego's 2nd Varsity 8 dropped a race against Cal's 5th Varsity 8.
Sunday, UC San Diego rowed against Oregon State with the Beavers coming out in front in Varsity 8 and 2nd Varsity 8 events.
