Tritons' Trip to National Championships Canceled

LA JOLLA, Calif. — Due to health and safety protocols within the UC San Diego men's rowing program, the Tritons will not compete at the Intercollegiate Rowing Association National Championships this coming weekend.

UC San Diego's 2022 season comes to a close with all three of the Tritons' Varsity 8 boats having earned a trophy. The Third V8 won the only race they took part in, taking victory by over 15 seconds at the San Diego Crew Classic at the end of March, part of an impressive team showing from UC San Diego. The Second Varsity 8 won at the Crew Classic as well, mounting a tremendous sprint to come from behind and cross the line in first. Earlier this month the First Varsity 8 claimed their fourth straight victory at the Western Sprints, which qualified them for what would have been a fifth straight appearance at the IRA National Championships.
