LA JOLLA, Calif. – UC San Diego Athletics returns with its second season of the video series Between Two Zooms. In the second season, fans will get the opportunity to hear from Scholar-Athletes and members of the Triton Community.
Today's edition features the newest addition of the Houston Astros,
Shay Whitcomb. The junior shortstop was recently drafted in the fifth round and 160th overall in the 2020 MLB draft, making him the highest Division II player from UC San Diego to be drafted. Whitcomb sat down with play-by-play broadcaster Ted Mendenhall to discuss his experience on draft day, time with the Tritons and his experience with the Cape Cod League last summer.
