LA JOLLA, Calif. -- The UC San Diego men's tennis team continued its homestand on Thursday afternoon, defeating Point Loma Nazarene 7-2. The Tritons won two out of three doubles points and five of six singles matches. The victory brings the Tritons back to .500 on the season with an overall record of 8-8.

At the number one spot on the doubles ladder Kazumi Negishi and Erik Elliott defeated Point Loma's Curt Wheeler and Landon Hiker, 8-6. Naveen Dixit and Samuel Ling defeated the Sea Lions' Trent Brown and Josh Nelson at number three, 8-6. At the second spot on the doubles ladder Brandon Stevenson and Vincent Nguyen were defeated by Joel Meyers and Travis Albaugh.

In singles action, Point Loma's Curt Wheeler defeated senior Negishi, 6-3, 6-3. At number two, Nguyen defeated Travis Albaugh, 6-4, 6-4. Sophomore Dixit won in three sets over Sea Lion Landon Hiker at number three 6-2, 6-7, 10-6. At the fourth spot on the singles ladder Chapman Chan defeated Andrew Hong, 6-3, 6-3. Jake Fellow defeats Josh Nelson 6-2, 6-2 at number five. At the sixth spot on the singles ladder freshman Sam Ling defeated Trent Brown 6-4, 6-0

The Tritons will continue their homestand when they face Fresno Pacific on Friday, April 3 at 4:00 p.m.
