DENVER, Colo. - One day after their match against Colorado State-Pueblo was rained out, the UC San Diego men's tennis team battled Metro State on Monday afternoon, losing 5-4. Fighting through the elements, the Tritons were able to win two out of three doubles and two singles matches.
In doubles play, No.2 Brandon Stevenson and Armaun Emami defeated Angelo Faustino and Georgie Perez of Metro State. Freshman Naveen Dixit and sophomore Samuel Ling took the third spot on the doubles ladder, defeating Sean Carlton and Ryan Campbell, 8-2. Samuel Ling defeated Roadrunner Ryan Campbell 6-1, 6-1 at the No.5 singles spot. Freshman William McCall didn't allow a point, defeating Sean Carlton 6-0, 6-0 at No.6 on the singles ladder.
The defeat puts the Tritons overall season record at 10-10. UCSD will return to their home state and face Sonoma State on the road this Friday, April 17 at 1:00 p.m.
