LA JOLLA, Calif. ? The UC San Diego men's tennis team lost a 5-2 decision to Dartmouth University on Friday afternoon at the La Jolla Beach and Tennis Club. The Big Green won six out of the nine points, but the event was scored 5-2 based on Division I ruling. With the loss, UCSD falls to 6-8 on the season.
After Dartmouth won the first two doubles points, the Tritons picked up a victory at No. 3 after Brandon Stevenson and Vincent Nguyen teamed to defeat Dartmouth's Chris Ho and Justin Tzou by a score of 8-3.
UCSD's Naveen Dixit defeated Curtis Roby 6-3, 6-3 at No. 3 singles, while freshman Samuel Ling defeated Michael Laser at No. 6 singles 7-5, 6-3.
The Tritons are back in action on Saturday when they host Sonoma State at noon.
