LA JOLLA, Calif. ?The UC San Diego men's tennis team lost to Hawaii Pacific by a 7-2 score on Sunday afternoon on the UCSD campus. Jake Fellow won the only UCSD point in singles, winning at the No. 3 singles position by scores of 6-4, 6-4. Kazumi Negishi and Erik Elliott won at the No. 1 doubles spot by an 8-6 score. UCSD drops to 4-6 overall. The Tritons are back in action on March 3 when it hosts Boston College. First serve is set for 2:00 p.m.
In addition to Negishi and Elliott in doubles, Vincent Nguyen and Brandon Stevenson were edged in their No. 2 doubles match by a 9-8 score. At No. 3 doubles, Fellow and William McCall lost by an 8-5 margin.
In singles action, Negishi lost at No. 1 singles, 6-3, 6-0. At No. 2 singles, Nguyen lost to Looty 6-2, 6-1. Fellow won his No. 3 singles match 6-4, 6-4. At No. 4 singles, Samuel Ling lost to Petrov 6-4, 6-2. At No. 5 singles, McCall lost 6-2, 6-3 and at No. 6 singles, Elliott lost 4-6, 7-6, 10-8.
