IRVINE, Calif. ?The UC San Diego men's tennis team went on the road and lost to Concordia 7-2 on Tuesday afternoon in Irvine. Playing its second match in as many days, UCSD earned points at No. 2 doubles as Erik Elliott and Kazumi Negishi won by a 9-8 score. At No. 4 singles, Naveen Dixit won an exciting match 6-4, 4-6, 7-5. Also participating for the Tritons was Chapman Chan, Armaun Emami, Ramesh Thondapu, William McCall, Vincent Nguyen, Sam Ling and Eric Mendoza.
At No. 1 doubles, UCSD's Chan and Emami lost 8-5, Elliott and Negishi won 9-8 and Thondapu and McCall lost 8-3.
In singles action, Negishi lost at No. 1 6-1, 6-3 while Chan lost at No. 2 singles 6-1, 6-2. Nguyen lost at No. 3 6-4, 6-4 while Dixit won 6-4, 4-6, 7-5. Ling lost at No. 5 singles 6-3, 3-6, 10-5 and Mendoza lost at No. 6 singles 6-4, 6-3.
UCSD is back in action on Thursday when it hosts Hope International at 2:00 p.m.
