PHOENIX, Arizona ?The UC San Diego men's tennis team lost to Abilene Christian by a 7-2 score on Saturday afternoon on day two of the Grand Canyon President's Day Duals tournament. Naveen Dixit and Samuel Ling won their singles matches, scoring UCSD's points in the match. The Tritons drop to 2-1 in the tournament, 3-3 overall. UCSD defeated Western New Mexico and Colorado State Pueblo on the opening day of the tournament. UCSD is back in action on day three of the tournament, taking on the host, Grand Canyon Antelopes at 3:30 p.m.
Chapman Chan and Armaun Emami lost at No. 1 doubles by an 8-4 score. Kazumi Negishi and Erik Elliott lost at No. 2 doubles by an 8-3 score. Ramesh Thondapu and William McCall lost at No. 3 doubles by an 8-4 score.
In singles action, Negishi lost at No. 1 singles, 6-2, 6-4 while Chan lost at No. 2 singles, 6-1, 6-0. Vincent Nguyen lost at No. 3 singles 7-5, 6-4 while Jake Fellow lost at No. 5 singles 1-6, 6-4, 10-6. Dixit won his No. 4 singles match 6-1, 1-6, 10-5 while Ling won his singles match at No. 6, 2-6, 6-4, 11-9.
