POMONA, Calif. ? The UC San Diego men's tennis team completed the second day of the 2008 Wilson/ITA Small College Regional Championships, hosted by Cal Poly Pomona.  In singles action, Erik Elliot defeated Luke Salazar of Western New Mexico before losing to Joshua Lau of Cal Poly Pomona in a 4-6, 6-0, 6-3 battle.  Kazumi Negishi also split two matches, defeating Quan Vu of Sonoma State before losing to Conner Olsen of Sonoma State. 

Elliot defeated Salazar 6-2, 6-2 before losing to Lau 4-6, 6-0, 6-3.

Negishi defeated Vu 6-4, 6-4, before falling short against Olson 6-2, 6-2.

Naveen Dixit was also in action and lost his match to James Lee of Cal Poly Pomona by a 6-3, 6-2 score.

In doubles action, Brandon Stevenson and Negishi lost to the tandem of Timosi Fa and Chris Toli of Western New Mexico by an 8-4 score.  Vincent Nguyen and Naveen Dixit dropped an 8-0 decision in the semifinals to the No. 1 overall seeded BYU-Hawaii duo of Rong Ma and Agnel Peter.
