LA JOLLA, Calif. — UC San Diego (5-8) earned a dominant victory over Villanova (3-5) 7-0 on Thursday, Feb. 26 at the Northview Tennis Courts. The Tritons secured the doubles point with victories in all three matches and swept all six singles matches.

HOW IT HAPPENED
UC San Diego secured the doubles point with decisive performances across all courts. At No. 1 doubles,
Abhinav Chunduru and
Trevor Nguyen posted a 6-2 victory. Meanwhile,
Andrew Beceiro and
Prathinav Chunduru dominated No. 2 doubles with a 6-0 win. The duo of
Trey Fourticq and
Oliver Worth rounded out the doubles sweep with a 6-4 triumph at No. 3 doubles.

In singles play, the Tritons maintained their momentum. Worth clinched a straight-set win at No. 1 singles with a 6-1, 6-2 scoreline. P. Chunduru followed suit at No. 2 singles, securing a 7-5, 6-2 victory. At No. 5 singles, Beceiro overcame a first-set tiebreak to win 7-6(3), 6-3, clinching the match.

Nguyen delivered a strong performance at No. 3 singles, winning 6-4, 7-5. A. Chunduru battled through a three-set match at No. 4 singles, ultimately prevailing 6-0, 6-7(5), 10-4. Fourticq rounded out the sweep with a 6-2, 6-3 win at No. 6 singles.
