The 156-player field for the upcoming Open is approximately two-thirds complete. A majority of the remaining spots will be determined by results from Monday's qualifiers, including four from Valencia.
Tseng, who tees off at 8:20 a.m. Monday, earned his berth at Valencia by shooting a 67 to take second place at a local qualifier at The Grand Golf Club in San Diego back in May.Â
The Valencia course, a Robert Trent Jones, Sr. creation, is a par-72 that plays at 7,300 yards.
Big name golfers that will also be playing in one of Monday's qualifiers include K.J. Choi, Stewart Cink, Rickie Fowler, Padraig Harrington, Max Homa, Zach Johnson, Matt Kuchar, Graeme McDowell, Webb Simpson, and Brandt Snedeker.
The 2025 U.S. Open is set for June 12-15 at Oakmont Country Club in Oakmont, Pa., about 15 miles outside of Pittsburgh. Aside from playing in qualifying events, there are several other ways to gain a spot in the national championship including being a top-60 player in the Official World Golf Ranking two weeks before the tournament and at the start or winning the U.S. Open within the last 10 years. Additionally, there's a Korn Ferry Tour exemption for the top player on the previous year's Points List.
Tseng recently wrapped up his junior season as a Triton and garnered All-Big West Second Team accolades. He posted a pair of top-five finishes over the 2024-25 season.
