LA JOLLA, Calif. — Triton men's tennis will compete in five tournaments in the next six weeks for the team's fall portion of the season.
The first event is the Big West Fall Invitational this weekend, Oct. 2-5, at UC Santa Barbara. The Tritons will then travel to Hawai'i for an invitational Oct. 10-13.
This year's ITA Southwest Regional Championship will be Oct. 16-21 at Arizona State. The fall schedule wraps in November, with the Tritons split between the ITA West Sectional Championship (Nov. 6-9) and UC San Diego's own Triton Invitational (Nov. 6-10).
The ITA West Sectional Championship will be hosted by Cal. That event and the ITA Southwest Regional Championship both offer qualifying spots to the
NCAA Singles and Doubles Championships, which runs Nov. 18-23 at the USTA National Campus in Orlando.
This weekend's Big West Fall Invitational will determine The Big West's singles player and doubles team that will represent the conference at the
ITA Conference Masters Championships. Each Division I conference sends a singles and doubles representative to that event, which will be Nov. 6-9 at the Barnes Tennis Center in San Diego.
The Big West Fall Invitational begins with a singles draw of 32 and a doubles draw of 16. The competition is single elimination, although consolation matches will also be held. The full schedule and results are available on the
tournament website.
UC Santa Barbara will host the event at the Gauchos' Arnhold Tennis Center, Rec Courts and Stadium Courts. Live video will be available
here for matches at the Arnhold Tennis Center.
The fall portion of the tennis season is largely centered around individual competition in both singles and doubles play. The Tritons will compete together during the spring dual match schedule, which begins in January. That schedule will be announced at a later date.
