TEMPE, Ariz. – UC San Diego men's tennis continued fall action at the ITA Southwest Regional Championship, hosted by Arizona State. Eight Tritons participated in this year's event – six of whom also played doubles. Sophomore
Carson Lee led the way for UC San Diego with his appearance in the round of 16.
Lee advanced through the qualifying round into the main draw, where he defeated Arizona State's Nicola Cigna, 6-0, 7-5 in the round of 64. Next up was Grand Canyon's Nikita Volonski, whom Lee led 6-1 when Volonski retired due to injury. In the round of 16, Lee fell to UCLA's Spencer Johnson, 6-1, 7-6 (7-3).
The Tritons will return to action on Nov. 1 when they play host to the Triton Fall Invitational at Northview Tennis Courts in La Jolla.
