LOS ANGELES – UC San Diego alumna, Daisy Feder, was inducted into the Southern California Jewish Sports Hall of Fame on June 26 for her outstanding athletic career as a Triton and her impact on the Jewish sports world. Feder was joined by 16 other inductees and three high school inductees.
 
The Los Angeles product represented the blue and gold from 2008 to 2013 where she set multiple records and garnered several honors over her career. Navigating injury in her first year, Feder competed in all 30 games the following season as a redshirt freshman. Her 32 triples recorded that season were second on the team and she was a reliable threat from behind the arc, averaging 36.8% in three-pointers.
 
Feder returned in 2010 to have a breakout season as a sophomore, appearing in all 31 games, and starting five of them for the Tritons. She was fourth on the team in scoring and was once again, a consistent long-distance threat from behind the three-point line. Averaging 9.2 points, 1.4 rebounds, and 16.7 minutes per game, Feder shot 60-of-155 from the three-point line to average 39%.
 
In her junior season, Feder garnered All-CCAA First Team honors and Daktronics All-West Region Second Team honors. As a veteran, she started all 33 games for the Tritons and averaged 26.1 minutes. Her 15.0 points per game average, ranked her second on the team and third in the CCAA. Going to the line for the Tritons 148 times, Feder put away 109 foul shots to average 73.6% at the line.
 
Feder's final season was decorated with numerous honors, including Daktronics West Region First Team, CCAA Most Valuable Player, All-CCAA First Team, All-CCAA Tournament Team, Capital One Academic All-District, UC San Diego Athlete of the Year, and San Diego Hall of Fame Champions Star of the Month for December. Leading the CCAA in free throw percentage, three-pointers made (89), three-pointers/game (2.7), defensive rebounds (181), and defensive rebounds/game (5.5), Feder helped the Tritons to a 17-5 conference record and the first CCAA Championship Tournament title. Nationally, she finished her tenure ranked 19th in three-pointers/game, 26th in points/game, 29th in free throw percentage, and 58th in three-point field goal percentage.
 
The inductee resides in the UC San Diego record book 36 times. She's fourth at 1571 in career total points scored, second in career three-point field goals made at 249, second in career free throws made at 352, and leads the Tritons in games played at 133. Feder holds the UC San Diego single-season record for most three-point field goals made at 246 which she set during her senior season.
 
After graduating from UC San Diego with a degree in Ethnic Studies, Feder spent five years playing professional basketball in Israel for the following organizations, Ramla (2017-18), Ramat Hen (2015-17), Jerusalem (2014-15) and Ramat Hasharon (2013-14). Feder led her respective teams to three Israeli League Finals appearances and claimed the Israeli League Cup Championship with Ramat Hen in 2016-17.
 
Currently, Feder is an assistant coach at Loyola Marymount University for the women's basketball team. She served as the program's Director of Operations prior to her time as the assistant coach and helped lead the Lions to the quarterfinals of the conference tournament. As the Graduate Assistant, Feder helped lead the Lions to their first post-season stint in 14 years, as the team was selected to play in the WNIT. She earned her master's degree in Educational Studies from LMU.
 
The SCJSHOF honors men and women in professional, collegiate, high school, and community sports, recognizing athletes, coaches, officials, media, and executives across the different levels. The Hall of Fame has recognized over 300 Jewish men, women, and teams who have had a significant impact on shaping the history of the Jewish community.
