UC San Diego Competes in SoCal Intercollegiate Championships

LOS ANGELES – The Tritons competed at the SoCal Intercollegiate Championships this past weekend taking place at the University of Southern California's David X Marks Tennis Stadium. The SoCal Intercollegiate Championships included competition from Azusa Pacific, Portland, Concordia University, Biola, Cal Lutheran, Cal Poly, Loyola Marymount, USC, UC Santa Barbara, UCLA, and the University of San Diego.
 
On day one of the tournament both Diogo Tinoco and Charles Qian took home a singles victory.
 
DAY ONE – Oct. 27, 2022
Singles
Leyton Bohren (APU) def. Tristan Taylor (UCSD), 6-4, 4-6, [10]-[6]
Charles Qian (UCSD) def. Fabian Gusic (Portland), 7-5, 3-6, [10]-[7]
Diogo Tinoco (UCSD) def. Alvaro Gonzalez (LMU), 6-3, 6-4
Wojtek Marek (USC) def. Charles Qian (UCSD), 6-1, 7-5

DAY TWO – Oct. 28, 2022
Doubles
Darvel Lossangoye/Jacob De La Paz (CLU) def. Diogo Tinoco/Tristan Taylor (UCSD), 8-5

UP NEXT
The UC San Diego men's tennis team will be back in Los Angeles Friday to take part in the Jack Kramer Classic, hosted by Arizona State. Action gets underway Friday, Nov. 4.
