MALIBU, Calif.—Eight Tritons competed in the ITA Men's Southwest Regional Championships over the weekend at Ralphs-Strauss Tennis Center. UC San Diego had four pairs compete in the doubles draw, while all eight Tritons competed in the singles draw as well.

Jett Cole and
William Lan both advanced to the round of 64 in men's open main draw on Friday. Cole defeated Loic Van Zeggelaar (GCU), 2-6, 6-3, 6-4 before falling to No. 9 seed Andre Ilagan (Hawai'i), 6-2, 6-1. Lan topped Ben Keyser (Cal Poly), 4-6. 7-6(5), 7-5 before falling to No. 3 seed Stefan Dostanic (USC), 6-1, 6-3.

In the doubles main draw, Cole and
Daniel Traxler advanced to the round of 32, defeating Blair/Scemanenco of San Diego State, 8-2, before the pair was eliminated by Pepperdine's Zeitvogel/Summaria, 8-2.
Phillip Lan and
Pelayo Rodriguez Garcia also advanced after their opening round opponent withdrew but fell in the round of 32 to No. 5 seed Baird/Hoogmartens (UCLA), 8-2.

UP NEXT
UC San Diego men's tennis will wrap up its fall slate with the San Diego Veterans Tennis Classic, Nov. 5-7 at the Hogan Tennis Center on the University of San Diego campus. Teams competing in the round-robin tournament are San Diego State, USD and the United States Naval Academy, in addition to the Tritons.
