SAN DIEGO, Calif.—UC San Diego's
Sahm Irvine paired with San Diego State's Roni Rikkonen for a doubles victory over UNLV on Saturday at the SDSU Fall Invitational at Aztec Tennis Center.
The three-day round-robin event included players from Arizona, Loyola Marymount, San Diego State, UNLV, in addition to the Tritons.
Irvine registered the Tritons only victory of the weekend with an 8-6 defeat of Jack Hambrook/Thomas Navarro from UNLV.
Phillip Lan and
William Lan fell in doubles competition on day one, 8-2 to LMU, while Phillip dropped a 6-1, 6-7(4), 6-1 decision to Connor Olsen (Arizona) and William fell to Jared Horwood (Arizona), 6-0, 6-4.
In addition to his doubles victory, Irvine also competed in singles but fell to John Bryan Otico of LMU, 6-1, 6-0 on day two.
Zach Ermert wrapped up the weekend for the Tritons, pairing with SDSU's Judson Blair in the third day of doubles competition. The duo battled but ultimately fell to Jett Middleton/Conner Olsen (Arizona), 8-4.
