LA JOLLA, Calif. – The University of California, San Diego baseball team will highlight all of the CCAA Tournament titles the team has won during its time as a member of the California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA). Since joining the conference in 2001, the Tritons have won seven CCAA tournament titles, the most of any team during that timeframe.
During UC San Diego's Division II era, the Tritons have consistently been one of the top baseball teams in the conference. The Tritons have only missed the CCAA tournament four times, three of which came in the Tritons first three seasons as a member of the CCAA.
Throughout the week, the Tritons will highlight each title on twitter at UCSDBsb. Below is the list of CCAA titles and when they will be highlighted.
- 2005 Title – May 4
- 2009 Title – May 4
- 2010 Title – May 5
- 2011 Title – May 5
- 2012 Title – May 6
- 2014 Title – May 7
- 2018 Title – May 8
The 2020 CCAA Tournament was scheduled to take place from May 6-9 but was canceled due to the COVID-19 outbreak. Right before the baseball season was canceled, the Tritons were ranked first in the nation by Collegiate Baseball and third in the nation by the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association.
In July of 2020, the entire athletics program will begin a four-year transition to NCAA Division I, culminating in full DI status as a member of the
Big West Conference for the 2024-25 academic year. At that time, all sports will be eligible for conference and NCAA postseason play.
