TEMPE, Ariz. – The University of California San Diego men's tennis program was ranked T-12
th in the Oracle/Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Division II Men's National Team Rankings. The ITA announced its rankings this afternoon.
As a team, UC San Diego finished the shortened season with a 9-4 record, with two of its losses coming to Division I opponents. In addition to the Tritons' national ranking, several scholar-athletes were selected in the West Region singles and doubles rankings.
Sahm Irvine had UC San Diego's top singles ranking, tabbed 10
th among the West Region. He was followed by fellow underclassman
Phillip Lan at 14
th, who was in his first season with the Tritons.
Closing out his Triton career, senior
Marc Isaia was ranked 19
th in singles. One slot behind Isaia was junior
Neil Tengbumroong who was slotted 20
th.
In doubles, Lan and
Sreeganesh Manoharan represented the Tritons. The pair was tabbed fifth in the West Region.
