LA JOLLA, Calif. - When paired up, Axel Bouillin and Rajeev Herekar have been nearly perfect at No. 1 doubles this season, dropping just one of their 10 matches. Their stellar performance continued in the 126th Annual Pacific Coast Doubles at the La Jolla Beach & Tennis Club as the duo reached the quarterfinals before falling, 2-6, 7-5, 7-6(5), to Brett Bacharach and Bryce McKelvie of UC Davis.

Bouillin and Herekar started off the tournament with an 8-4 victory over Georgetown's Alex Tropiano and Marco Lam. The senior duo then become the only Tritons to advance past the round of 64 by defeating Oklahoma State's Arjun Kadhe and Jakob Sude, 8-4.

In the round of 32, Bouillin and Herekar won a tough 8-5 battle against San Diego State's head coach Gene Carswell and assistant coach Jeff Thomsen. Then with a 6-1, 6-2 win against Claremont-Mudd-Scripps' Skyler Butts and Daniel Morkovine, Bouillin and Herekar advanced to the quarterfinals.

After taking the first set 6-2, Bouillin and Herekar dropped the second set and lost the final set in a tie breaker.

Mark Meyer and Justin Zhang paired up to take down USC's associate head coach Krzystof Kwinta and Tanner Smith in the opening round, 8-9 (9-2), but fell in an 8-5 decision against San Diego's Jordan Angus and Filip Vittek in the round of 64.

Kona Luu and Eric Tseng also opened up the Pacific Coast Doubles with a win, defeating Tundov and Turner, 8-2. But like Meyer and Zhang fell in the round of 64.

The Tritons will return home on Tuesday to host West Florida.
