STOCKTON, Calif. - The No. 1 ranked UC San Diego baseball team captured the California Collegiate Athletic Association Championship with an 8-3 victory over No. 25 Cal State Dominguez Hills on Saturday at Klein Family Field in Stockton. "We didn't show up to compete today and it cost us a ballgame," said head coach Dan O'Brien. "But I'm proud of our guys for bouncing back and playing a very solid ballgame to win the tourney."

In the second game, Kirby St. John threw a complete-game, allowing three runs and earning a single-season school-record tying 11th win of the year.
