LA JOLLA, Calif. – After an illustrious four-year career, former UC San Diego standout
Michelle Osier will take her game to the next level and join the professional ranks in Europe this fall. UCSD's all-time career leader in both rebounds and steals, Osier has committed to play for the Union Kuenring Flames of Vienna, a First Division team in the Austrian Women's Basketball League.
“We are so proud and excited for Michelle to begin her professional career in Austria," head coach
Charity Elliott said. "She has worked extremely hard to put herself in this position and we have no doubt she will make a significant impact with her new team and continue to represent UCSD now as an alum. We wish her all the best and will be following her success very closely.”
A 6-1 forward, Osier set both the all-time rebounding (1,185) and steals (318) marks during a brilliant senior campaign in 2008-09 in which she averaged 15.4 points, 9.0 rebounds, and 2.5 steals per game. She also wrapped up her career as the program's second-leading scorer with a total of 1,749 career points. The Placerville, Calif. native was named the Daktronics West Region Player of the Year and a State Farm Coaches All-American after leading the Tritons to a 27-5 overall record last season.
Joining Osier on the Flames is fellow CCAA alum Audi Spencer, who played at Chico State from 2005-08.
