SANTA CRUZ, Calif. ?The UC San Diego men's tennis team upset UC Santa Cruz in thrilling fashion, defeating the Slugs 5-4 on Saturday evening on the UCSC campus. Kazumi Negishi tied the match at 4-4, winning the third set in his match. At the No. 5 singles spot, Jake Fellow fought off four championship points and pulled out a 2-6, 7-6, 9-7 (6-2) victory to clinch the match for the Tritons. UCSD won 2-of-3 doubles matches as Negishi and Erik Elliott won at No. 1 and Naveen Dixit and Sam Ling won at No. 3 doubles. The match was UCSD's third consecutive 5-4 decision, winning two of those three. UCSD is back in action at the NCAA West Regional on May 7-8.
