LOS ANGELES, Calif. ? The UC San Diego women's tennis team won it's 50th straight California Collegiate Athletic Association match on Saturday, defeating Cal State L.A. by an 8-1 margin at the CSULA Tennis Complex.  The Tritons improve to 2-1, 2-0 CCAA, while the Golden Eagles drop to 1-1, 1-1 CCAA.  UCSD swept all three doubles matches and won five of the six singles matches.  Natalie Varnay won her No. 1 singles match 6-4, 6-1 while Ina Dan and Taskeen Bains won at No. 1 doubles by an 8-6 score.

Cal State L.A.'s only point came at No. 2 singles, where Lana Lamesic outlasted Ina Dan. Lamesic was leading, 6-3, 3-1 when Dan had to default due to illness. Cal State L.A.'s Adriana Espinosa lost in the most competitive match of the day at No. 3 singles when Anita Athavale prevailed, 6-4, 5-7, (11-9).

Cal State L.A.'s No. 1 singles player, Bojana Ducanovic was beaten by UC San Diego's Natalie Varnay, 6-4, 6-1. Ducanovic and Linda Majzlikova lost a tight contest at No. 1 doubles to Dan and Taskeen Baines, 8-6.

UCSD is back in action on February 26 when it travels to Cal State Stanislaus in Turlock.
