PHOENIX, Ariz. ?The UC San Diego men's tennis team defeated Grand Canyon on Sunday afternoon on the third day of the GCU President's Day Duals. UCSD won all six singles matches and 2-of-3 doubles matches. Kazumi Negishi, Chapman Chan, Aurman Emami, Eric Mendosa, Samuel Ling and William McCall each won their singles matches. On Monday, the Tritons would fall to BYU-Hawaii by an 8-1 score. Overall, the Tritons went 3-2 in Phoenix, defeating GCU, Western New Mexico and Colorado State Pueblo. The losses came against BYU-Hawaii and Abilene Christian.

Against BYU-Hawaii, Samuel Ling scored the only points for UCSD in a 6-4, 6-2 win at No. 6 singles. Negishi lost 6-1, 6-3, Chan lost 7-6, 6-3, Fellow lost 7-6, 6-2, Mendonsa lost 6=4, 6-7, 10-8 and McCall lost 6-3, 6-2.
UCSD is back in action when it hosts Barry on February 28 at 10:00 a.m.
