LOS ANGELES, Calif. ? The UC San Diego men's tennis team completed the second third day of the 52nd Southern California Intercollegiate Championships on Friday afternoon. UCSD's doubles tandem of Armaun Emami and Brandon Stevenson was in action and lost to A.J. Young and Alex Urbina by an 8-1 score. Competition at the Southern California Intercollegiate wraps-up UCSD's fall season as its first match of the spring season is set for February 2 when it hosts Cal Baptist.
Yesterday, UCSD's Naveen Dixit defeated Austin Andres 6-2, 6-4 and Vincent Nguyen defeated Danny Colton 6-3, 6-4 in the tournament's back draw qualifying.
In the doubles qualifying portion of the day, Dixit and Nguyen lost to Austin Andres and Marchezrez 8-2. Ilja Ikonnikov and Jack Zapala defeated the Tritons duo which had to withdraw in the other UCSD match. Action at the Southern California Intercollegiate continues on Friday.
