UCSD Edged Again by CSUDH

The UC San Diego baseball team dropped the second game of the four-game series to Cal State Dominguez Hills in another one-run decision, this time losing 4-3. The Tritons led 3-2 in the fifth, but gave up two runs in the eighth and lost. The Tritons continue to struggle on the road, having lost eight of their last 11 away from home. The good news comes in that UCSD returns to Triton Baseball Field for the remaining two games of the series. UCSD has won six straight home games. First pitch of the twinbill is set for 11:00 a.m. on the UCSD campus. UCSD drops to 25-20, 14-12 CCAA, while the Toros improve to 22-15, 11-9 CCAA.

UCSD took the 3-2 lead in the fifth on an RBI single by Scott Clement. After the Toros took the lead in the bottom of the eighth, UCSD gave one more shot at the comeback. UCSD's Matt Cantele led the ninth off with a single and was pinch-run for as Devin Incerti reached second on a sac bunt. The next two Triton batters were unable to get the run in as the Tritons dropped the second game of the set.
