LA JOLLA, Calif. — The UC San Diego men's rowing team is set for the 2026 Mountain Pacific Sports Federation (MPSF) Championship this weekend.
The conference event is slated for Sunday, May 17, on Lake Natoma in Gold River, Calif. Racing gets underway at 8 a.m.
Competing for a conference title alongside the Tritons are No. 1 Washington, No. 2 California, No. 5 Stanford, Oregon State, and in, its MPSF debut, the University of British Columbia.
The Tritons will field Varsity 8 and Second Varsity 8 boats.The Second Varsity 8 Grand Final takes place at 8:36 a.m. and the Varsity 8 grand final is slated for 8:48 a.m.
This is the second running of the MPSF Championship. In 2025, UC San Diego's Varsity 8 won the petit final to place fifth overall and qualify for the IRA National Championship. In addition, the Second Varsity Eight finished sixth, just .370 seconds behind Santa Clara at the top of that petite final. The Tritons' Third Varsity 8 boat also placed sixth.
California is the reigning MPSF champion.

The 2026 IRA National Championship Regatta is slated for May 29-31 on Lake Natoma. It will be the 123rd running of the event.
