LA JOLLA, Calif. — The UC San Diego men's rowing team makes a return to Redwood Shores this weekend to compete at the California Classic, co-hosted by Cal and Stanford.
The Tritons will field a Varsity 8 as well as a Second Varsity 8.
Over Saturday and Sunday, the Varsity 8 will go up against Temple, Santa Clara, and Oregon State.
The Second Varsity 8 crew will race the Cal Fifth Varsity as well as Santa Clara Saturday. Sunday, that boat wraps up action for the Tritons when it takes on Oregon State's Varsity 8.Â

The Tritons were at Redwood Shores back in early March to kick off the 2026 spring season.
This is the Tritons' second year in the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation (MPSF). In 2025, the Tritons qualified two Varsity 8 boats for the IRA National Championship.Â
The 2026 IRA National Championship Regatta is slated for May 29-31 on Lake Natoma in Gold River, Calif. It will be the 123rd running of the event.
