LA JOLLA, Calif. — The Big West's weekly men's volleyball awards for April 13 see UC San Diego's
Sebastiano Sani honored as the Offensive Player of the Week.

Sani was instrumental in the Tritons' victory over No. 2 Hawai'i on Saturday, finishing with a match-high 18 kills while hitting .371 to go along with a career-high five blocks and two aces. No. 13 UC San Diego won 3-1 to hand Hawai'i its first Big West loss in the penultimate week of the season and snap the Rainbow Warriors' eight-match winning streak.

In the two matches with Hawai'i in La Jolla last weekend, Sani totaled 29 kills, hitting .434. He also compiled five digs, three aces and one assist. His 11 kills on Friday were a match high.

An outside hitter from Bethesda, Maryland, Sani is an international business major at Muir College. The junior is the second Triton to earn Big West weekly honors this season. Middle blocker
Peter Selcho was named the Defensive Player of the Week on March 2.

Sani and the Tritons finish the regular season this Saturday, April 18, at home against No. 8 UC Santa Barbara. The match begins at 7:00 p.m. from LionTree Arena and will also be broadcast on ESPN+. Nine scholar-athletes will be honored in a ceremony before the match as part of the team's Senior Night.
