LA JOLLA, Calif. - UC San Diego men's golf is in seventh place after Monday's two rounds at the R.E. Lamkin Invitational.
San Diego State and the University of San Diego are co-hosting the 16-team tournament at San Diego Country Club in Chula Vista.
The Tritons are one under par after shooting three under in the opening round and two over in the second round.
Individually,
Justin Gill leads UC San Diego at three under, good for 11th place.
The USD Toreros are in the top spot at 19 under par. Long Beach State (-13) is second and the host Aztecs (-11) are third.
Long Beach State's Alejando De Castro leads the field at 11 under.
There are six Big West teams in the field. Joining UC San Diego are Cal Poly, Long Beach State, UC Davis, UC Irvine, and UC Santa Barbara.
San Diego State won the 2025 event and the University of San Diego was victorious in 2024.
This is the third time that UC San Diego has played this tourney since moving to NCAA Division I status for the 2000-2001 season. The Tritons were in the field in 2025 and 2022.

About UC San Diego Athletics
After two decades as one of the most successful programs in NCAA Division II, the UC San Diego intercollegiate athletics program began a new era in 2020 as a member of the Big West Conference in NCAA Division I.
