Catalano, Tseng Earn All-America Scholar Accolades from GCAA

LA JOLLA, Calif. - Francis Catalano and Nathan Tseng of the UC San Diego men's golf team were named NCAA Division I Cobalt Golf All-America Scholars by the Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA) as the organization announced its annual honorees Monday.

To be eligible for Cobalt Golf All-America Scholar nomination, an individual must be a sophomore, junior, or senior both academically and athletically. In addition, they must participate in 50% of their team's competitive rounds, have a stroke average under 76.0 in NCAA Division I, and maintain a minimum cumulative grade-point average of 3.2. A recipient must also be of high moral character and be in good standing at their college or university.
 
A total of 649 NCAA Division I athletes from 210 schools earned 2025-26 Cobalt Golf All-America Scholar honors. 

Both seniors, Catalano and Tseng made major contributions on the course for the Tritons over the 2025-26 season.

Tseng, a business psychology major from Fullerton, Calif., earned All-Big West Second Team honors for the second-straight year. He posted a pair of top 10 finishes which included his first collegiate victory. Tseng finished the year with a 72.2 stroke average and posted 24 rounds of par or better.

Tseng was also tabbed a GCAA All-America Scholar in 2025. 

Catalano majored in management science and hails from Camarillo, Calif. He held a 73.2 stroke average this past season. He had 12 rounds of par or better and shot under 70 three times.

Catalano was named a GCAA All-America Scholar in 2025 as well.
