HENDERSON, Nev. - A strong second round Tuesday allowed the UC San Diego golf team to move up three positions into fourth at the Lake Las Vegas Invitational.
The University of Louisiana is hosting the 11-team tournament at Reflection Bay Golf Club in Henderson.
The Tritons shot 10 under par, the second best round of the day, and now stand at five under through 36 holes of play. They were in seventh place after shooting five over in Monday's opening round.
Boise State is atop the leader board at 11 under par.
Individually,
Calvin Kong remains the top Triton in sixth place at five under. He shot a three under 69 Tuesday and a two-under 70 Monday.
Justin Gill is also in the top 10. He shot a six under 66 today to rocket into 10th place, improving his standing by 29 positions.
Additionally,
Nathan Tseng (12th) and
Leo Cheng (20th) are among the top 20.
Boise State's Cole Rueck leads the 69-player field at 11 under. He leads by two strokes heading into Wednesday's third and final round.
UC San Diego has eight players in the field - five that count in the team scoring and four that are playing as individuals.
