AIR FORCE ACADEMY, Colo. - The UC San Diego golf team finished third of 23 teams and two players were in the top-20 as the Falcon Invitational wrapped up Monday.
Air Force hosted the tournament on the Blue Course at Eisenhower Golf Club.
The Tritons finished 12-under par. They shot below par in each of the three rounds, going 2-under today, 9-under in Sunday's second round, and 1-under in Saturday's opening 18.
Two Tritons placed among the top-20 in the 115-player field with
Davis McDowell finishing fifth at 7-under and freshman
Hanjie Yu coming in 18th at 2-under.
Francis Catalano (35th, +1),
Nathan Tseng (35th, +1), and
Justin Gill (63rd, +4) also competed for the Tritons.
Idaho, an affiliate member of the Big West, ran away with the team trophy at 23-under par, 10 strokes better than second-place Gonzaga.
Northern Colorado's Kaelen Dulany was the individual winner as he finished 14-under par.
Three other Tritons competed in an individual tournament separate from the team event. All three finished in the top-20. Freshman
Ethan Lien, playing in his first collegiate tournament, tied for third at 8-under,
Calvin Kong tied for 13th at 2-under, and
Leo Cheng tied for 18th at 1-under.
The winner of the individual event was Louis Grizot from UC Davis. He went 10-under par over the 54 holes of play.

• This was the third-consecutive year that UC San Diego had played in the Falcon Invitational.
• There were seven Big West teams in contention - CSUN, Hawai'i, Idaho, UC Davis, UC San Diego, UC Riverside, and UC Santa Barbara.
