Both teams are coming off a draw in their most recent match. Last season, the 'Runners earned their program's first-ever win over the Tritons.

Host Cal State Bakersfield posted a clean sheet with a 3-0 victory over visiting UC San Diego at Main Soccer Field. The win was the first-ever for Cal State Bakersfield (4-8-1, 2-1 Big West) over the Tritons. UC San Diego (2-9-2 overall, 0-3-1 Big West). now leads the all-time series between the programs, 9-1-4.
TIBOR TAKES BIG WEST HONORS TWICE
UC San Diego forward
Ava Tibor has been named The Big West Freshman of the Week twice so far this season. She scored two goals – one coming on a penalty kick – as the Tritons downed UNLV, 3-2, on Aug. 24. Tibor's brace was her second of the season in the team's first three matches played. Of seven braces by a Triton in UC San Diego's Division I era (2021-present), Tibor now boasts two of those seven.

ASCENDING THE MOUNTAIN
UC San Diego boasted a 2-1-1 record against foes from the Mountain West this fall, earning wins over UNLV and Colorado College, and a draw at San Diego State (Snapdragon Stadium). The Tritons fell 2-1 to No. 25 Colorado State in Fort Collins (Sept. 7).

FIVE TRITONS CAPTURE BIG WEST HONORS IN 2024
Five UC San Diego scholar-athletes have been honored by The Big West as the conference announced its women's soccer postseason awards. Graduate students
Skylar Enge and
Kailey Park, seniors
Camryn Borg and
Courtney Hilliard, and redshirt freshman
Leilah Raad were all named Honorable Mention All-Big West. In addition, Raad was selected to The Big West All-Freshman Team.
The postseason recognition is the first for all five Tritons, and the five Triton honorees are the most for UC San Diego in the program's four seasons competing in The Big West. The annual awards are voted on by the conference's 11 head coaches.
HEAD COACH KRISTIN JONES '04
One of the most decorated players to come through the renowned UC San Diego women's soccer program, Kristin Jones is in her seventh season as the program's head coach. The former Triton standout became assistant with the program in 2004 and was elevated to associate head coach in 2015. Her career head coaching record stands at 53-47-24 (.524) over six-plus seasons.

The Triton is described as the offspring of Poseidon and Amphitrite, a demigod of the sea with a lower part of the body like that of a fish. It is known as a mighty and fierce sea warrior.
