LA JOLLA, Calif. - UC San Diego men's volleyball head coach
Brad Rostratter announced the addition of Drew Piloto as an assistant coach with the team Wednesday.

Most recently, Piloto was the head coach of Pipeline Volleyball Club out of Corona, Calif. Piloto has also been the head coach of Balboa Bay Volleyball Club and was a player/coach with Pulse Athletics. Both of those clubs are located in Orange County, Calif.
As a player, Piloto was on the floor with Vanguard University as well as St. Francis.
With Pipeline, Piloto helped guide the team to its first gold medal at the SoCal Cup Showcase in 2024. During his tenure with Balboa Bay, he coached the "Core Four" clinic, assisting collegiate head coaches from Long Beach State, USC, Pepperdine, Long Beach State, and Grand Canyon.
As a setter with Vanguard University in Costa Mesa, Calif., Piloto won a National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) national championship in 2023. The Lions also won back-to-back Golden State Athletic Conference (GSAC) regular season titles in 2022 and 2023.
Off the court at Vanguard, Piloto was the recipient of the 2023 NAIA Champions of Character Award. He also served on the school's Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) and was Vanguards' male representative for SAAC within the GSAC.
Prior to Vanguard, Piloto played two years of volleyball at St. Francis College. He was the starting setter for the team's first season as a member of NCAA Division I. As a freshman, Piloto finished 22nd in the country in assists per set and was also named to the Dean's List.
Piloto graduated from Vanguard in 2023 with a bachelor's degree in kinesiology.Â
