LA JOLLA, Calif. – The UC San Diego women's soccer team (1-2-2) begins a three-match home stand this week, when the Tritons host San Diego State and LMU. The Tritons tied both programs on the road last year and are 1-0 at home so far this season. UC San Diego will be looking to top the Aztecs for the first time in program history; the Tritons are unbeaten against LMU (1-0-2) – including last year's draw in Los Angeles.

ON THE MOVE
After 20 seasons playing as an NCAA Division II team, the entire athletics program will conclude a four-year transition to NCAA Division I, culminating in full DI status as a member of
The Big West for the 2024-25 academic year. At that time, all sports will be eligible for conference and NCAA postseason play.
LAST TIME OUT
Brown scored a pair of goals just over three minutes apart in the second half as the host Bears (3-1-0) topped visiting UC San Diego, 2-0, Sunday morning at Brown's Stevenson-Pincince Field. The Tritons held one of the nation's top offenses in check for over 47 minutes on a humid Rhode Island morning, before the Bears broke through.

Ashlynn Kolarik scored on a header in the 39th minute and junior
Kennedy Carter netted the equalizer with just 101 seconds to play as the visiting Tritons battled host San Diego State to a 2-2 draw atop the SDSU Sports Deck.
The match was UC San Diego's first regulation tie under the new NCAA rule that removed overtime periods from regular season contests.
LAST TIME VS. THE LIONS (9/28/22)
Host Loyola Marymount and visiting UC San Diego battled to a 1-1 draw in women's soccer action Wednesday night at Sullivan Field in the final non-conference match of the season for both sides. In the 69th minute,
Kennedy Carter fired a shot on net, but LMU goalkeeper Amanda Delgado made the save. The Tritons remained persistent and tied the match two minutes later. UC San Diego created traffic in front of the net and sent the ball in to the six-yard box where it clipped a Lion and deflected into the goal to level the match at 1-1 on the own goal.

KALPAKOFF BREAKS THROUGH
UC San Diego junior
Raquel Kalpakoff had a breakout game in the season opener at Pacific (Aug. 17). She scored three second half goals in a span of 11 minutes as the Tritons rallied from 3-0 and 4-1 second half deficits to earn a draw on the road. Her hat trick marked her first three career goals. On Aug. 28, she was named UCU Athlete of the Week.

KEARA KEEPS BUSY
UC San Diego goalkeeper
Keara Fitzgerald came up big in net for the Tritons last season, leading The Big West with 105 saves while posting four clean sheets. She made a career-high 10 stops against San Francisco (Sept. 14). Over the summer, Fitzgerald played for South Georgia Tormenta FC in the USL W League.

Katelyn Meyer played every minute of every match in 2022 after playing she played all 1,589 minutes of the 2021 season as well. She was an All-Big West Second Team selection in 2022.

HEAD COACH KRISTIN JONES '04
One of the most decorated players to come through the renowned UC San Diego women's soccer program, Kristin Jones is in her fifth season as the program's head coach. The former Triton standout became assistant with the program in 2004 and was elevated to associate head coach in 2015. Her career head coaching record stands at 44-27-13 (.601).

22 TRITONS MAKE COMMISSIONER'S HONOR ROLL
22 members of the UC San Diego women's soccer team were honored for their work in the classroom by being named to the 2022 Big West Commissioner's Honor Roll.
Natalie Abel, Camryn Borg, Mika Celeste, Ava D'Arcangelo, Lucy Granger, Courtney Hilliard, Kate Hottinger, Raquel Kalpakoff, Ashlynn Kolarik, Talisa Lin, Allie Luo, Lindsey Park, Lauren Rocco, Lizzy Teran, Caitlin Wilson and Corinne Wilson all earned Highest Honors for maintaining a cumulative GPA between 3.51 and 4.0.
