Baseball Announces 2024 Big West Schedule

The Tritons will begin their conference slate at home March 15 against Cal State Fullerton

LA JOLLA, Calif.— The Big West has announced the 2024 baseball conference schedule which will see UC San Diego begin its final season of the NCAA-mandated four-year transition period to NCAA Division I.

The conference slate consists of 10 three-game series and one bye weekend per team. The Tritons will play host to Cal State Fullerton, UC Riverside, UC Irvine, Hawai'i and Cal Poly at home in Triton Ballpark. UC San Diego will travel to face UC Davis, Long Beach State, CSU Bakersfield, UC Santa Barbara and CSUN on the road.

The Tritons will open their conference slate in Triton Ballpark, playing host to 2022 NCAA Tournament participant Cal State Fullerton, March 15-17.

UC San Diego will travel to take on UC Davis (March 23-25) in week two, before returning to La Jolla to host UC Riverside (March 28-30). The Tritons will face Long Beach State on the road (April 5-7) and UC Irvine at home (April 12-14).

In week six, UC San Diego will travel to CSU Bakersfield (April 19-21), before playing host to Hawai'i (April 26-28) at home in week seven.

The Tritons will play back-to-back series on the road at UC Santa Barbara (May 3-5) and CSUN (May 10-12) before wrapping up the schedule at home against Cal Poly (May 17-19). Each Big West team will have one bye week and UC San Diego's will fall on the final week of conference competition (May 23-25).

The Tritons are coming off their first Big West Championship in 2023—the first Big West title for any UC San Diego member sport—and a 21-9 record in conference play. Due to the NCAA-mandated transition period, the Tritons were not eligible for post-season competition. UC San Diego sports will be fully eligible for Division I post-season competition in 2024-25.

The Tritons' non-conference schedule and ticket information for the 2024 season will be announced at a later date.
