Women Take Second, Men Take Third at Triton Invitational

The UC San Diego track and field team concludes day two of the Triton Invitational

LA JOLLA, Calif. — The UC San Diego track and field team concluded day two of the Triton Invitational, with the men's team finishing in third place overall with 89 points and the women's team finishing in second place overall with 97 points.
 
The men's team had several top five finishers in different events. Nathan Yoder was the event winner in the Triple Jump with a distance of 14.60m. Other notable performances included Sebastian Garcia coming in at third for the Discus Throw, Anish Kasam's third-place finish in the 400-meter Hurdles, and Marcos Milla's third-place finish in the 1500-meter Run.
 
The women's team also had several impressive performances, with Julia Di Silvestri placing third in the Triple Jump and seventh in the Long Jump, while Feyi Olukanni finished sixth in the Shot Put. Other top finishers for the women's team included Caitlin Billman in the 1500-meter Run placing third, while both Lizzie Coley (100-meter Hurdles) and Amari Jenkins (400-meter Hurdles) finished third. 
 
In relay events, the men's team finished third in the 400-meter Relay (Lee, McCray, Grant, Crespo) and fifth in the 1600-meter Relay (Heinlein, Pompili, Ndiaye, Fry). Meanwhile, the women's team came in third in both the 400-meter Relay (Coley, Schultz, Mattson, Kepler) and the 1600-meter Relay (Kalt, Coley, Schiele, Schultz, Jenkins).
