LA JOLLA, Calif. – UC San Diego men's basketball head coach
Eric Olen has announced 7-footer Emmanuel Tshimanga (Montréal, Québec/Bella Vista Prep. [Ariz.] HS) will transfer to UC San Diego for the 2022-23 school year. Tshimanga played the last two seasons at UC Irvine.
"We are thrilled to be adding Emmanuel to our 2022-2023 roster," Olen said. "His game will fit ideally with our style of play, with his high skill-level and his ability to read the floor as a modern post player. It has been a pleasure getting to know Emmanuel and his impressive family that is very invested in his success on and off the court. We are anxiously looking forward to having him join our program."

Tshimanga comes to UC San Diego as a redshirt junior. He joins an incoming class of
Cade Pendleton and
previous signees Roddie Anderson III and Quin Patterson to comprise a strong group of new Tritons.
The Tritons concluded their season with a record of 13-16 overall and 7-11 vs. Big West opponents. In their final home game, the Tritons downed eventual Big West champion Cal State Fullerton, 81-76. 2021-22 marked the second year of the NCAA-mandated four-year reclassification to Division I for UC San Diego.
