LA JOLLA, Calif. - The UC San Diego men's basketball program has announced two high school standout scholar-athletes have signed National Letters of Intent to join the team as freshmen for the 2022-23 academic year. Roddie Anderson III and Quin Patterson have committed to join the Tritons to make up the Class of 2026.
"I am excited to officially welcome Roddie and Quin to the Triton Family! They are not only talented basketball players but also great people that will be terrific representatives of our program, athletic department and University," said UC San Diego head coach
Eric Olen. "I am confident that our program got better today."

"Roddie is an athletic point guard that affects the game in a number of ways. His instincts for playmaking make everyone around him better while his work ethic ensures he will continue to improve throughout his career. Roddie has worked with great coaches who have helped prepare him for the next level and we know he will have a positive impact on our program from day one," Olen said.
QUIN PATTERSON

- Two state championship appearances, winning Washington state title as a sophomore
- Second-ranked wing in Washington
- Averaged 16.3 points, 6.6 rebounds, 2.5 assists, 1 block per game, shooting 44% 3FG and 83% FT as a junior
- Three-time honor student
- Played for Team LaVine travel team
"Quin brings a combination of size and skill that is hard to find," Olen explained. "Shooting is his calling card but his basketball IQ and versatility will allow him to fit seamlessly into our system. Coming from a very successful program, Quin understands what it takes to compete at a high level and his mature approach to the game will serve him well."
The Tritons are in their second year of an NCAA-mandated four-year reclassification to Division I, competing in the Big West Conference. UC San Diego opened its 2021-22 season on Tuesday
with an 80-67 win at Cal. The Tritons return to RIMAC Arena for their first home game in front of fans in more than 600 days on Saturday to host George Washington at 7 p.m. Tickets can be purchased at
