UNIVERSITY PLACE, Wash. - The UC San Diego men's golf team finished in 29th place Tuesday at the Redhawk Invitational, hosted by Seattle U at Chambers Bay Golf Course in Washington.
The tournament was reduced to Tuesday's single round as unsafe weather forced the cancellation of two rounds Monday.
The Tritons finished with a 313, 29-over par on the par 71, 7,068-yard course. Junior
Elliot Bunyaviroch, redshirt freshman
Davis McDowell, and senior
Ryan Vaughan all finished in a tie for 73rd at 7-over par. Freshman
Francis Catalano (+8) placed in a tie for 86th and senior
Sergi Mata (+10) tied for 103rd.
None of the 23 teams and just two of the 120 players competing finished under par.
Boise State was the team champion, finishing 3-over par with a 287. The Broncos were five strokes in front of Abilene Christian and Seton Hall, which tied for second place.
Boise State's Max Charles shot a 2-under 69 to take individual medalist honors. Seattle U's Nathan Cogswell was a stroke back in second place while four players tied for third at even par.
Chambers Bay, which hosted the 2015 U.S. Open, is located in University Place, Wash., southwest of Tacoma on Puget Sound.

With just two tournaments remaining in UC San Diego's season, the Tritons head up the California coast for the UC Santa Barbara Intercollegiate, which runs April 11-12 at Sandpiper. To close out their campaign, they compete at UC Davis' El Macero Classic, April 20-22 at El Macero Country Club.Â
