LA JOLLA, Calif.—UC San Diego women's rowing competed against the University of San Diego on Saturday morning in Chula Vista, Calif.

The Toreros took first in the varsity eight, second eight and varsity four, while the Tritons placed first in the novice eight race.

HOW IT HAPPENED
In the varsity eight race, UC San Diego finished with a time of 6:44.17 for its best time of the spring schedule to date. USD's top eight finished just ahead with a time of 6:40.4.

The second varsity eight saw the Tritons finish with a time of 6:55.62, behind USD's time of 6:48.57 and ahead of the USD novice eight with a time of 7:06.48.

The varsity fours race had three USD boats that finished 1-2-3 with times of 7:42.18 (boat A), 7:46.76 (boat B) and 7:54.05. The Tritons placed fourth with a time of 8:07.88.

In the final event of the day, UC San Diego's frosh/novice eight took the top spot with a time of 7:04.59 ahead of the Torero freshman with a time of 7:20.08.

UP NEXT
Next up, the Tritons will travel to Lake Natoma, Calif. for the Western Intercollegiate Rowing Association (WIRA) Championships April 30-May 1. The two-day event will take place at the Sacramento State Aquatic Center.
