Phillips and Daily Sweep MPSF Athletes of the Week

LA JOLLA, Calif. – After hosting three meets this past weekend, seniors Jordan Phillips and Spencer Daily were both named Mountain Pacific Sports Federation (MPSF) Athletes of the Week.

The Triton women hosted USD on Saturday, where Jordan Phillips helped her team take first in 15 out of 16 events, by taking first in three events herself. She swam a 23.18 in the 50 yard freestyle and broke her own pool record from 2020 in the 100 yard butterfly with a time of 53.60. She led the first leg in the 400 yard freestyle relay, the team swam a 3:28.47, finishing nearly 23 seconds before the next relay team.

After hosting No. 2 Cal for two days in a row, Spencer Daily took four wins against the Bears. On the first day, he took took first in both the 50 yard freestyle and the 100 yard butterfly, swimming a time of 20.05 and 48.47 respectively. He ended the meet as the final leg in the 200 yard freestyle relay and helped break the pool record with a time of 1:20.68. On the second day, he took first again in the 50 yard freestyle.
 
The Tritons ended their regular season with that meet and will head to Los Angeles next weekend to compete in the MPSF Championships.
