HOUSTON – UC San Diego wrapped up the Big West Swimming & Diving Championships today, with the Triton men finishing on the podium in third and the women finishing fourth overall. Six Tritons finished on the podium on the final night of competition.

After the final day of competition, UC San Diego men claimed the third-place spot earning a total of 571 points. University of Hawai'i earned the championship title, with 780. Grand Canyon University claimed second, finishing with 728 points. On the women's side, UC San Diego finished in fourth place with a total of 644 points. The podium finishers were University of Hawai'i (798), UC Davis (692), and UC Santa Barbara (660).

HIGHLIGHTS
Sophia Bell started the day four championships off earning a silver medal in the 1650 Freestyle (16:41.00).
Landon Egeland followed her in the men's 1650 Freestyle finishing third (15:15:24.33).
Eva Boehlke added a third individual championship title to her accomplishments with a win in the 200 Backstroke (1:56.37). She broke the Big West meet record which she herself set last year.
Luigi Franco added his name to the champions list outpacing his competitors in the 200 Backstroke (1:43.19). In the 100 Freestyle
Asia Kozan finished second (49.06). Rounding out the Triton podium finishers from day four,
Chloe Braun added another victory in the 200 Breaststroke, swimming a 2:12.19.

UC San Diego will attend the Bulldog Invitational in Athens, Ga. on Feb. 28 and March 1 to compete in a Last Chance meet before the Swimming & Diving NCAA Championships.
