LAST TIME OUT
The Tritons last competed on Feb. 19 at the Bulldog Invite at the University of Redlands, returning home with a pair of wins, taking down Whittier 12-5 and defeating Claremont-Mudd Scripps 17-8. Against Whittier, the Tritons came out swinging, going up 6-0 after the first two periods with two goals fromÂ
Chloe Pena. Whittier scored their first goals of the game in the third period, but UC San Diego maintained a comfortable lead throughout, notching another six goals in the second half to take the win.Â
Lauren Bellavia led the way with three goals in the match.
Â
The Tritons got out to an early lead once again in their second match of the day, jumping out to a 6-1 lead at the end of the first period with a goal fromÂ
Grayson Mix, two goals fromÂ
Lucia Doak, and three goals fromÂ
Kendall Thomas.Â
Lauren Bellavia began the second period with two more goals for UC San Diego, helping extend what would eventually be a 12-1 first half lead.
Â
Thomas and Doak continued to progress for the Tritons this weekend with six and three goals, respectively. "Both Lucia [Doak] and Kendall [Thomas] are learning a ton every single game," said UC San Diego head coachÂ
Brad Kreutzkamp. "However, as freshman, they still have a ton more to learn. They both have the physical talent to be stand out Division I water polo players, and they've shown flashes of that this season, I just can't wait until they put it all together and become the stars that we think they will be."
RECORD WATCH
With 679 career saves,Â
Bennett Bugelli ranks fifth all time, having already leapt up from ninth place this season, making 25 saves at the UCSB Winter Invite and another 25 saves at the Triton Invite. Next on the list is Maryam Hadiashar with 697 saves.

Head coach
Brad Kreutzkamp also changed his standing in the record books this season by collecting his 246
th career win, moving him to the top spot all-time with the Tritons. "It's a bit surreal getting that record, I'm not sure it's set in yet," said coach Kreutzkamp. "Looking back at all the athletes that have come and gone it's mind blowing, but every single one of them had a hand in this. Having two amazing associate head coaches in Jenna Williamson and
Nicki Davidson was critical and I can't thank them enough."
Â
"It's simply mind blowing to be on any list with [
Denny Harper]. As the father of women's water polo here at UCSD, I hope he's proud that one of his assistant coaches was the one to catch him. I've learned so much from him and it's pretty cool to be with him on this list now."
Â
Through 12 games this season, Coach Kreutzkamp is up to 252 career wins.
