Women’s Rowing Announces 2023 Schedule

LA JOLLA, Calif.—UC San Diego head coach Colin Truex has announced the 2023 women's rowing spring schedule. The Tritons will get started on Feb. 25 on Mission Bay, taking on USD and UCLA in the first of two scrimmages to begin the season.

"We have an excellent schedule set up for the spring 2023 racing season," said Truex. "After a couple of early-season scrimmages, we have our races set up in an every-other-week format. This will allow for a weekend of big racing followed by two weeks of resting, resetting the line-ups, and then preparing for the next race weekend."

The Tritons will take on Loyola Marymount on March 4 for their second scrimmage of the year on Mission Bay. UC San Diego will then travel for its first major competition—the Hornet Invitational, hosted at Sacramento State Aquatic Center (March 18-19).

In April, the Tritons will participate in back-to-back local events, beginning with the San Diego Crew Classic (April 1-2) and hosting the Triton Invitational (April 15-16).

"In addition to the staple races—Hornet Invite, SD Crew Classic, and WIRA—we are very excited to announce that we are hosting the first ever Triton Invitational. This is a joint effort with the men's team that will take place at the Elite Athlete Training Center in Chula Vista."

The Tritons will return to Sac State Aquatic Center for the Western Intercollegiate Rowing Association (WIRA) Championships (April 29-30) before wrapping up the 2023 schedule at the Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) Championships in New Jersey (May 14).

"Overall, it's a very challenging set of races which will prepare our team for the CAA Championships in May."
