LA JOLLA, Calif. – UC San Diego freshman back
Allie Luo was named Big West Women's Soccer Freshman of the Week on Monday, becoming the first Triton women's soccer player to earn such an honor from the conference office. The program is in competing in its second Division I season.
Last week, Luo was credited with a pair of assists as the Tritons rallied from a 2-0 second half deficit to earn a draw at CSU Bakersfield. Three days later, she and her Triton back line helped post a clean sheet in UC San Diego's 1-0 victory at CSUN. Luo has started all 18 matches for the Tritons as a freshman, logging 1,610 minutes to date. Her four assists leads UC San Diego.
Luo and her Triton teammates host Cal Poly on Thursday night at Triton Soccer Stadium in the final match of the 2022 season. Prior to kickoff, UC San Diego will recognize eight departing seniors and thank them for their contributions to the program.Â
