LA JOLLA, Calif.—UC San Diego women's rowing head coach
Colin Truex has announced the Tritons' 2022 spring schedule.
"I am very excited for the upcoming racing season," said Truex. "It feels like it has been a long time since we have had a full schedule. Our schedule is highlighted by the return of the San Diego Crew Classic and the WIRA Championships for the first time since 2019. These are both great spectator events with excellent competition and lots of alumni and family in attendance."
The season begins on Feb. 26 when the Tritons face off with the University of San Diego in a scrimmage on Mission Bay. UC San Diego will then travel north to take on Loyola Marymount in a scrimmage in Los Angeles on Mar. 5.
Next up, the Tritons will travel to Rancho Cordova to compete in the Hornet Invitational hosted by Sacramento State. The two-day regatta will take place Mar. 19-20.
The Tritons will return home to compete in the San Diego Crew Classic. The two-day event will take place Mar. 26-27 at Crown Point on Mission Bay. UC San Diego will remain local to face off once again with USD and LMU on Apr. 9 in Chula Vista.
Next up, the Tritons will travel to the WIRA Championships in Rancho Cordova on Apr. 30 and May 1 and wrap up their schedule at the CAA Championships on May 15 in Camden, N.J.
"Ultimately, everything comes down to the CAA Championships in New Jersey and I am very confident that our team is built to improve on last year's impressive results," said Truex. "We are very much looking forward to getting back out there!"
